The Steam Room, Hackney Chinese Community Services and Niconico has bound together to bring you Lai See Canvas workshop! 🧧
Workshop details:
Get involved! We've got 88 Lai See Canvas' to decorate and display on The Steam Room's LNY Window to celebrate the New Year 2022!
Get creative and customise your own Lai See this year. Gift to friends and family or share with The Steam Room and to feature on the LNY window display*
*We'll keep them safe if you want to pick them up after the event. Just add your name on the back of the Lai See.
Sign up to get a spot, it will be first come first serve with limited number of Lai See on day of event.

Who is this workshop for?
The workshop is open to everyone that wants to get involved. Creativity comes in different forms and welcome all the ideas on customising your own Lai See. It is a great opportunity to get involved and chat to the community as well as donate to Hackney Chinese Community Services.
What will I need to bring?
A variety of art supplies will be available for use and very welcome to bring in your own tools. Feel free to even bring in old red envelopes to get creative with. Get your penmanship skills out, think crafty, think collage, whatever takes your fancy.

Guide minimum donation is £8 per Lai See. All cash only donations will be accepted on arrival of event. All proceedings go to Hackney Chinese Community Services. The donations will go towards helping with renovations and moving into the Old Bath House, as well as contribute towards staffed roles. Please donate what you can to support their ambitious vision.

Safety Measures:
Please keep in mind other people's safety and take a lateral flow test before attending. There will be hand sanitiser gels available in the space. Please do not attend the workshop if you have any Coronavirus symptoms.
Face coverings and masks are mandatory during the workshop.
There is a maximum capacity for each time slot to comply with Covid-19 guidelines.
If the event is affected by Coronavirus, cannot run due to Government restrictions, we will notify you. Thank you for your cooperation.
