About the Tour
Join us on a scenic Day Trip to journey through the heart of the beautiful stunning Lake District visiting amazing and breathtaking sceneries at Windermere. Windermere is England's largest natural and most beautiful lake. Its name, Scandinavian in origin, means 'lake of a man called Vinandr'. ISUK Tours will take you to the most beautiful walk in Windermere, where the sceneries will not let you leave! You would immerse yourself in incredible, natural surroundings of the Lake District, a mountainous region in North West England, famous not only for its lakes, forests and mountains (or fells) but also for its association with the early 19th century poetry and writings of William Wordsworth and the other Lake Poets. Lake District is also the largest and the most visited National Park in the United Kingdom, protected since 1951. There is simply so much to see and do on this great outdoors adventure! You will enjoy the delightful walks in Windermere and be captivated by the panoramic view of the beautiful lake at Brantfell. Spending the day at Lake District also means you can enjoy taking a tour on a ferry to different destinations to view the stunning patchwork of lakes, valleys and fells or you can even just hire your own boat with your friends on the lake, which is so much fun as well!
This day trip also includes visiting Carlisle, located in the English county of Cumbria and where you can visit Carlisle Cathedral and Carlisle Castle. The castle, strategically located on the border between England and Scotland is over 900 years old and has played an important role in many historical episodes in British history. With a Day Trip visiting England’s finest scenery, greenest countryside and grandest views, you won't want to miss out on a truly spectacular scenic trip!
Windermere (the largest lake in England), Bowness-on-Windermere, Ambleside, Post Knott and Brantfell (a beautiful walk with stunning panorama views), Cockshot Point (a beautiful walk with great views of Lake Windermere), St Martin’s Church, World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, Lake Cruise, Carlisle Castle, Carlisle Cathedral
Windermere is the largest and most beautiful lake in England.
In the story of Loch Lomond Song, the two friends from Luss, who were captured in Jacobite Rebellion, were jailed in Carlisle Castle.
