Enjoy this picturesque, circular walk of Lakenheath covering the fenland edge and cut off channel. Experience the edge of the Fenland at Lakenheath and learn about the history of the Fens, the Cut-off Channel and the village of Lakenheath as you go. There is also the chance to spot some interesting wildlife on the way.

Led by the Suffolk County Council Rights of Way team, this walk is a mixture of established rights of way and new access improvement in the parish.

Accessibility: Unfortunately, this route is not wheelchair or mobility scooter accessible, with the majority of the path on natural or grass surface, with varied terrain.

Facilities: There are refreshment facilities in Lakenheath. Please note, there are no toilets at this event.

Parking: There is free parking for up to 3 hours in the public car park on Wings Road, IP27 9HW.

Transport: This event is reachable by bus. The 80 Coach Services.

The Brecks Fen Edge & Rivers Landscape Partnership Scheme is a new initiative delivering 24+ Archaeology, History and Nature focused projects that engage communities, schools and interest groups in understanding, conserving and celebrating the unique heritage of the Brecks' fen edge and river corridors.

The Scheme outputs will concentrate on the history and biodiversity of the river corridors and key fen edge and freshwater habitats within The Brecks, with the aim of delivering real understanding of water-based heritage and conservation issues, and positive conservation changes on the ground. This area encompasses a unique area in East Anglia with an incredible and much-overlooked landscape.
