About this course

Join us at Carousel Print Studio for this fun, practical two session course11am - 2pm on both days over a weekend, held in our specialist printmaking studio in Sheffield.

Day One Saturday - Learn how to create stencils to screen print gorgeous fabric to your own design and colours

Day Two Sunday - Make your unique fabric panel into a beautiful 30 cm drum lampshade for your home

All materials are provided and you will be guided all the way by our tutor Helen Darlington

What will I need to bring?

All materials and equipment will be provided.

You will be creating your own design so if you have any images, sketches, colour samples or wallpaper swatches that you would like to use as reference material please bring them along. Other source material will be available to inspire you.

Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. No sandals, heels or open toed shoes. Aprons will be provided.

You may want to bring a packed lunch and your own water bottle (though there is a small supermarket close by).

Teas and coffees are provided.

About Carousel Print Studio

Carousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Yorkshire Art Space, Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate. Carousel provides educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio.

Carousel studio is located on the ground floor just to the left of reception. The doors are widened for ease of access and there is an accessible toilet. If you have any questions regarding access needs please do contact us at print@carouselprintstudio.com

About the Tutor

This course is led by Sheffield artist and printmaker Helen Darlington.

A graduate of Sheffield Hallam University,Fine Art. Helen has worked for several of the areas visual art institutions including Cupola Gallery, The Art House Wakefield and Site Gallery. For the last ten years Helen has traded as Robin’s Room. Making and selling fine linen home wares, including lampshades, that are hand printed with her own intricate designs.
