As part of Lanarkshire Climate Action Festival 2025, community groups, third sector organisations, Local Authority officers and public bodies are invited to learn, share and discuss their priorities.

The event will include information sharing and interactive discussions on the outcome from Scottish Government’s Draft Environment Strategy that “Scotland’s society is transformed for the better by living sustainably, in harmony with nature”. We will explore how the strategy’s priorities for delivery can be realised in Lanarkshire through how we can increase access to nature and how to encourage our communities to live well through making more sustainable choices in food, transport, heating their homes and through their consumption of goods.

There will be the opportunity to hear from the Local Authorities on their activities and to look at practical ways we can support more communities in Lanarkshire to take climate action.

Groups and organisations are encouraged to bring along a pop up banner or information you would like to share with your peers for use during the networking lunch. Please contact info@climateactionlanarkshire.net to secure a space.

Catering:

There will be hot and cold drinks served which include dairy and plant-based milk. Lunch will be provided by GoKrsna - a new social enterprise who will also be present at the conference with samples of their menu and gathering your feedback on their vegetarian and climate conscious catering service.

Travel:

Located in a residential area in Motherwell, Forgewood Community Centre can be accessed via bus.

The closest train stations is Motherwell which is approx 2 miles away.

The venue does have its own car park - it is first come first served however, there is plenty of onstreet parking if the car park is full.

At the venue:

The rooms which will be used on the day are on the ground floor of the Hub building. There is a ramp to enter at the front of the building and there are accessible toilet facilities.
