Lancashire Constabulary is once again to hold an Open Weekend to give visitors the chance to see ‘behind the badge’ and discover what really goes into making and keeping Lancashire a safe place to live and work.

On both days there will be plenty to see and do:

  • Police vehicles on display

  • See how crimes are investigated

  • Learn about the work undertaken by the Police and Crime Commissioner

  • Learn about how rural areas are being protected

  • See displays by Police Dogs and Horses

  • See inside our Communications Centre

  • See live Support Unit displays.

There will also be displays by Lancashire Fire and Rescue, North West Ambulance Service, Environment Agency, Army, G4S, Coastguard, Bay Search and Rescue and Bowland Trust Mountain Rescue and others.

  • Partner displays

  • Classic Police cars and uniform

  • Activities for children including fancy dress competition

Tickets are named and adults are likely to be asked for photo identification before admission to the event. Bags, prams, and persons may be subject to being searched prior to admission. All persons, including young children and babies, will require named tickets.

FAQ’s

How do I get to the event/what are parking arrangements?

Parking is off site. All people attending by vehicle should use the free park and ride facility which is on Enterprise Drive, Leyland, PR26 6TZ. Access is via Centurion Way off the A582 or B5254.

This is a free bus service which will transport guests to and from the event. The buses will run every 10-15 minutes throughout the day, starting at 09:30am, with the last return being at 4:30pm.

This event is at Police Headquarters, and entry is through the main front gate, therefore security will be strict. Each member of your party will require a named ticket for access to the bus service/venue.

Walking or cycling to the event is permitted, cycles can be stored on site at your own risk. Any vehicles parked in the nearby area are subject to normal traffic restrictions and patrols will be actively monitoring this area.

I am disabled and cannot use the park and ride facilities, where can I park?

There will be buses running with disabled access, however, due to the security of the site, we have a small number of on-site car parking spaces available. Any person WHO CANNOT utilise bus travel MUST also order a ‘VEHICLE PARKING PASS’ for the day. This pass is for the VEHICLE ONLY and NOT the person, you will also need a ‘General Admission’ ticket. Both parts of a valid blue badge will be required on the day, this MUST relate to a guest with entry ticket who is in the vehicle.

I have reserved tickets but one of my party can no longer come, can someone else use that ticket?

Should this be the case, please log onto Eventbrite website and cancel your tickets. These can then be re-distributed.

Can I bring my dog?

No, unless the dog is a registered guide dog. Please be aware that Police Dogs and Horses will be on-site all day, and there are no provisions for any pets.

Can I bring food?

Yes. There will be a variety of vendors selling different types of food/drink on site, however, food is permitted. Alcohol is not permitted.

Do I need to bring my ticket with me?

Yes. Each ticket will be scanned prior to admission. A confirmation e-mail will be received which will have your tickets attached. The tickets can be printed or can be presented on a smartphone/tablet device capable of displaying a PDF document to be scanned. Tickets are non-transferrable, they are valid only for the person named on the date selected.
