Event description
Would you know what to do if a loved one suffered a cardiac arrest? If not, now is the time to become a Lancashire Lifesaver!

About this Event

Be a Lancashire Lifesaver! 😊 We'd love to see you at our Lancashire Lifesavers 45 minute training session on Wednesday evening 18th Spetember at 7pm at Ashton Methodist Church. (Due to the popularity, we have added an extra session on 19th Thursday too!👇https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lancashire-lifesavers-tickets-65782060915) Ashton & Riversway PACT has teamed up with Lancs Learning, Lancashire County Council & the North West Ambulance Service to help you learn some simple CPR skills which could help save a life! This is an amazing opportunity to learn the skill of saving the life of someone suffering cardiac arrest. When a person has a cardiac arrest, there are a few vital minutes to save them! Anyone can save a life - you just need to learn a few simple skills.

Approximately 30,000 people in the UK suffer an out of hospital cardiac arrest every year and currently only 1 in 10 people survive. However, if someone receives CPR very quickly following the cardiac arrest there is a significant increase in the chance of survival. CPR helps artificially keep the blood pumping around the body until medical help arrives. The important thing is that whatever you do you cannot do it wrong or put them in a worse position – with a little bit of training you could help save a life. In the event of a cardiac arrest, dial 999 as soon as possible and the emergency medical dispatcher will give you all the instructions you need. They’ll let you know if there is a defibrillator nearby and how to access it.
