Lancashire One Night Encounter

For just one night only, a fast-paced evening showcasing the best of Lancashire's booming performance talent. Brilliant bursts of distinctive and memorable entertainment!

Comedian and MC: Katie Mulgrew: Lancashire's antidote to grey weather! She gigs all over the country in comedy clubs plus appearances on BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio 2 & 3 solo Edinburgh Festival shows....“…Laugh affirming stuff.”

James Dangerfield is an actor, singer and musician who has appeared on stage, both in the UK and touring internationally. He has performed Shakespeare, musical theatre, operetta and has appeared in short films, music videos and commercials. He can next be seen in Mike Leigh’s forthcoming feature Peterloo. At Lancashire ONE, he will be performing part of his hit Edinburgh show: When You Fall Down- The Buster Keaton Story.

Also straight from the Edinburgh Fringe, the incomparably funny, Kriss Foster. For fans of Victoria Wood and Frank Sidebottom. 'Sweet, mild mannered, very funny' (Scotsman).

Preston singer/songwriter/storyteller, Susie Jones. She brings the songs and traditions of Lancashire to the fore in a way which modern audiences can relate to. She and her band, make a personal and open connection to her songs which transmits to audiences who feel they are watching the song live, not a performance. “Jones is a rare individual in the music business”

Rachel Dangerfield: outstanding, young Mezzo Soprano from Lytham St Annes. She has a long list of recital and concert credits including Blackburn Cathedral. Wakefield Cathedral.and recently performed at the celebrated "Leeds Lieder Festival" in the Poet and Composer Showcase as a soloist.

High energy, rarely seen, unique Appalachian dance routine from Lancaster dancers, Helen Gould and Ellen Turner.

The Lancashire Encounter Festival is the key cultural event for Central Lancashire and a driver for the development of Lancashire’s arts and cultural offer. Taking place over a full weekend in September, the festival is an authentic voice for Lancashire, celebrating the breadth of the County's diverse cultural offer with a high quality, high profile arts festival.
