Lancaster Music Festival 2016
Thu, 13 Oct 2016, 12:00 – Mon, 17 Oct 2016, 00:00 BST
Lancaster's award-winning FREE Music Festival: Welcoming Walkable Wonderful is famous for reflecting the city of Lancaster’s vast musical abundance, excellence and diversity while bringing in top notch acts from around the UK and worldwide. Driven by well over 200 acts performing a wide range of genres, the festival takes place over 5 days at over 40 venues bringing the entire city to life with live music. No wonder the festival is dubbed as Lancaster's Unofficial Bank Holiday Weekend!
Live music venues include the main stage at Lancaster Castle, all four of Lancaster's historic outdoor squares, Williamson Park, countless pubs, bars, restaurants, coffee places, theatres, shops and even the local brewery.
The festival is FREE to attend! However, there’s a nominal £1 entry into the Castle main stage. A limited number of £5 weekend passes will be available from our website from August 2016 and also at the castle gate during the weekend.
The family-friendly festival caters for kids of all ages from 8 to 80.
Venues will be hosting live music all times of day, with at least one venue with a 24 hour licence. For beer lovers, there is an official Festival Ale specially taste-tested by our festival team. There is also a wide variety of excellent eateries for appetites worked up by wandering from venue to venue, dancing or from general carousing.
Pick up a festival brochure containing the full programme of acts, unique articles on artists, a venue map and much more from all participating venues or Lancaster Visitor Information Centre from September for just £1. Brochures will also be available over the festival weekend from the LMF Info Booth in Market Square.
For visitors to the city there are plenty of hotels providing overnight accommodation (although we advise early booking as rooms tend to sell out fast), as well as a campsite at Lancaster Cricket Ground - click here for more details.
So come along to a huge variety of performances from local, regional, national and international acts. More venues, more acts, more of the time, more music, more madness!
As one of our sponsors put it, “If you can’t find music you like at Lancaster Music Festival you probably don’t like music”.
