About this Event

A reading of selections from this famous Arthurian romance in both the original Middle English and contemporary English. The performance is devised by Lancaster University scholars Dr Clare Egan and Dr Liz Oakley-Brown; this is a canonical Arthurian tale containing scenes of violence that might be unsuitable for children.

Dr Clare Egan is a Lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literature at Lancaster University researching the performance of identity through literature and drama of all forms during the early periods.

Dr Liz Oakley-Brown is Senior Lecturer in Shakespeare and Renaissance Writing at Lancaster University. While her research interests are varied, she mainly works on the cultural politics of early-modern translation, embodiment, emotions and mythology
