FAQs
Will I need to know the tunes in advance?
The tutors will provide music however much of what will be taught will be techniques and styles of fiddle playing.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No, however a you should be able to play the fiddle to an intermdiate standard at least.
Can I change level if I feel I have put myself in the wrong level?
Yes, subject to there being enough room in the space you are wanting to change to (it shouldn't be an issue)
What are 'Intermediate' and 'Advanced' levels?
Intermediate - You should be able to play several tunes at a reasonable pace, in G major, D Major, A Major, A minor, B minor and E minor.
Advanced - You should be able to play tunes at speed, in the most common keys. You should be understand different bowing and ornamentation techniques. Some position work might be included.
