Description

Our National Park ‘Land of Iron’ project tells the trailblazing story of ironstone mining and railways in the North York Moors –and a whole host of special ‘Land of Iron’ events throughout the year celebrate this extraordinary period. A 4½-mile stroll along the iconic Rosedale railway in search of the elusive ring ouzel, a shy migrant bird whose haunting call echoes amongst the rocks.

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Sorry no dogs.

Children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.

Our guided walks are free, although a suggested donation of £2 is welcome, helping us to care for the National Park.
