Landlords,

The training entitled "Landlord & Tenant: The Basics" will cover information on a number of topics including:

  • Are you confused about when & how to file an action in Landlord & Tenant (L&T) Court?
  • What can I sue my (DCHA) tenants for?
  • What forms do I need? Where can I find them?
  • Can both Landlords and tenants file in L & T court and if so, for what?
  • Are there resources for Landlords who don't have an attorney?
  • What is the lifecycle of an L & T case? (How long does it take? What are the different phases?)
  • How to file an Answer
  • Can you tell the difference between a consent agreement and a settlement agreement?
  • Can you tell the difference between a writ for restitution and a writ for possession?
  • Can you tell the difference between a redeemable vs a non-redeemable judgment?
  • What's the difference between a bench trial and a jury trial?
  • What do I need to know about writs for eviction?

Space is limited so register early! We encourage you to continue to check the portal for scheduling and other updates. We look forward to our continued partnership!
