Landscape Change in the Brecks c.1700-1930
Fri 21 April 2017, 14:00 – 16:00 BST
Over the past year landscape historians at UEA have been working with volunteers and students to study and record the changing landscape of the Brecks in the 18th and 19th centuries. Enclosure and 'improvement', tree planting and the growth of landed estates all had a considerable impact on the Brecks landscape in this period. This talk by Dr Jon Gregory will provide an overview of landscape change at this time, highlighting some of the key work carried out during the project. There will also be an opportunity to view and take home some of the maps and resources produced as part of the project.
The project is one of many which form the Breaking New Ground landscape partnership, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund - www.breakingnewground.org.uk
