Event description

Description

Date: Sunday 31st March

Time: 9.45am - 4pm

Cost: £75

Tutor: Professional Artist Kirstie Cohen.

Lunch Break: Please bring a packed lunch with you or use one of the local cafes.

The class will start with a demonstration of a technique using oil paint on board with landscape content.

Everyone will then apply the technique using ideas that can come from their sketches, photographs or collective memory.

Different tools will be used from brushes to palette knifes, scrapers and cloths.

I will demonstrate, for example, drawing with paint using it's fluid properties.

These are some key words to describe the process:

Expressive

Imaginative

Intuitive

Atmospheric perspective, reflection and the development of spatial awareness within the painting will be explored.

I will also introduce texture that can be integrated during the preparation of the paint surface.

The aim of the class is to communicate a technique and inspire the participating artist to develop their interests and skills.
