An evening of lectures and panel debates from leading UK based practitioners on 'The European Context'. For those able to attend earlier in the day, there will also be a tour of the Sheffield Gold Route.
Nigel Thorne FLI, PPLI
Nigel Thorne is the former President of the Landscape Institute and current President of the European Federation of Landscape Architects. He practices as an independent landscape consultant specialising in contract administration and project implementation and also works part-time for the award winning practice of Rummey Design and Rummey Environmental.
Todd Longstaffe Gowan is the principle of Todd Longstaffe-Gowan Landscape Design their current projects range from the creation of a new mountain-top village in Taiwan to the redesign of the gardens at Kensington Palace for the Diamond Jubilee of HM The Queen in 2012. Todd is President of the London Parks and Gardens Trust and Gardens Advisor to Hampton Court Palace. He is also the author of several books including The Gardens at Hampton Court Palace, The London Town Garden and The London Square: gardens in the midst of town.
Jane Knight CMLI
Jane Knight is the Eden Project Landscape Architect and plays a key role in the development and management of one of Europe's most innovative landscapes. She has worked on London's South Bank Festival of Britain Gardens and the Kosovo Peace Gardens. Jane has served on the LI Policy Committee.
Eelco Hootman is one of the founding partners of the multi award winning Gross Max one of Europe's leading landscape practices. Amongst others Gross Max are currently working on the Parklandschaft Tempelhof site in Berlin, one of Europe's most prestigious landscape projects. He has lectured at Harvard and Edinburgh University.
