Discover the Marshwood Vale and its ancient lowland meadows on a guided walk at the Countryside Restoration Trust's Babers Farm

About this Event

Meadows expert Nick Gray (Dorset Wildlife Trust) will lead a walk to identify the plants and wildlife of these special meadows. You will also get an insight into the pressures that modern farmers and land managers face and consider the future challenges to meadows like these in the face of our changing climate.

Notes: The route includes rough paths, open pastures and some gentle hills.

LANDSCAPES FOR LIFE FESTIVAL 21 – 29 September 2019

It’s been 60 years since almost half of Dorset became an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a ‘natural health service’ for all to enjoy. We’re inviting you to join in the celebrations and get some landscape in your life all the year round, not just the summer!

Join artists, story-tellers, wildlife experts, geologists, farmers, archaeologists to uncover what makes the landscape so outstanding. With a packed programme of walks, talks and have-a-go sessions have something for all interests, ages and abilities.

And help us celebrate our ‘national moment’ at our special picnic on Saturday 21 September.
