Event description
Guided walk through meadows embroidered with iconic wildflowers, led by Nick Gray (Dorset Wildlife Trusts' meadow enthusiast).

About this Event

Nick will lead you through the Kingcombe reserve and recount the myths and magic behind the herbs and grasses there. The patchwork landscape at Kingcombe is a result of sympathetic farming over many generations and our tales will weave in modern views of the countryside and hopes for the future.

LANDSCAPES FOR LIFE FESTIVAL 21 – 29 September 2019

It’s been 60 years since almost half of Dorset became an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a ‘natural health service’ for all to enjoy. We’re inviting you to join in the celebrations and get some landscape in your life all the year round, not just the summer!

Join artists, story-tellers, wildlife experts, geologists, farmers, archaeologists to uncover what makes the landscape so outstanding. With a packed programme of walks, talks and have-a-go sessions have something for all interests, ages and abilities.

And help us celebrate our ‘national moment’ at our special picnic on Saturday 21 September.
