Insights: 25 years in Teacher Development Panel Discussion 8 : Language Assessment Insights

About this Event

Assessment is a central part of learning and teaching, from initial placement through on-going formative assessment to final achievement and proficiency measurements. In the last six months teachers and learners, and their institutions, have faced huge challenges in developing approaches and defining principles for language assessment in an online world. This panel discussion brings together three assessment specialists to share their thoughts and suggestions on assessment in the 2020s.

Some areas that could be considered:

  • How to approach assessment in online settings
  • Principles of language assessment and feedback
  • Different approaches for different types of assessment
  • Creating and delivering assessment
  • Re-examining the nature of assessment and what we measure
  • What makes a good assessment and a good assessor
  • What language assessment will look like in 10 years time

NILE Director, Thom Kiddle, is joined by three panellists bringing different perspectives on the world of assessment. Belinda Steinhuber, Austria,  Anna Whinnett, UK, and Dave Allan, UK, will be answering the host’s and your questions, and some of their own.

You can submit your questions in advance or pose them directly to the panel during the live session.Details on how to do this are available upon registration.

This interactive, insightful event is free to all – but places are limited!
