Following our amazing German playdates in 2024 and a recent subscriber survey, we’re thrilled to launch a brand-new multilingual playdate schedule for families in Edinburgh!
🎈These themed sessions are a fantastic opportunity for bilingual and multilingual families to meet, connect, and play in a welcoming space where language and culture are celebrated. Each playdate is family-led, encouraging natural interaction and social bonding in your native or second language.
🗓️ Weekly Schedule
(Two slots: AM session10:00am–12:00pm & PM session12:30pm–2:30pm):
- Tuesdays – AM session Spanish & PM session Italian
- Wednesdays – AM session Mandarin & PM session German
- Fridays –AM session German & PM session Spanish
📢 Survey says: Spanish is our most popular language, with German close behind – so they each have two sessions a week!

🏡 Where It Happens
The playdates take place in our cosy baby & kids play cafe, family space- Little Plaza, a creative space for families with play café feature in the heart of Edinburgh city centre.
🧸 The playroom is normally open to café customers only (£3 per child stay and play)
🎨 Our craft station is also open for older children aged above 3:
- £8 per child includes a craft set + playroom access
👫 These sessions are an excellent way for little ones to build early friendships and for parents to network with other families who speak the same language.
🎟️ How to Join
Book online for just £5 per adult– this is a redeemable credit you can use on the day of your language playdate. It can be used toward stay & play, hot drinks, or any other purchase at Little Plaza during your visit. It’s not an entry fee – it’s credit back in your pocket. 🙌
Bringing friends? They’re welcome to join you! If they arrive with a ticket holder, they can also pay £5 per adult at the door as a redeemable credit. - A credit back in their pocket!
Walk-ins (or anyone not arriving with a ticket holder) can still join for £3 at the door, but this option is not redeemable and only covers entry. So why wait? Book ahead, get your credit, and come join the fun – for basically FREE!
🧸 Meet other multilingual families, let the little ones play, and enjoy a relaxed, language-themed hangout… all while sipping your favourite latte!

If you have a ticket for the next language playdate, you’re all set – no extra charge. If not, you can simply pay £3 per child to continue staying and playing. **Billing cycle resets at the end of each playdate slot**
Yes, of course. Online booking £5 credit is for each Adult, you just need to book £5 to bring your children. £5 credit will be applied at the end of your language playdate, £3 per kid for play and stay.
Absolutely – the more, the merrier! ? If you're a ticket holder, your friends can join you by paying £5 at the door, which they can fully redeem on the day for drinks, crafts, or play & stay. Just make sure they arrive with you, as we will charge £3 entry fee if they dont come with a ticket holder!
