Event description

Description

Meet, connect and converse with like-minded linguists and language professionals.

Language Professionals' Networking Event takes place once a month. The purpose of these regular meetings is to provide a platform where language teachers, coaches, trainers, tutors, translators, interpreters, voice-over actors, voice coaches, language and speech therapists, language and translation consultants, researchers - you name it, can meet, learn from each other, be inspired by talks and interviews with some brilliant minds from the linguist world, ask for support from like-minded professionals, and learn of new opportunities.

We're back in September 2019 with the following programme:

  • 18.30: Doors open
  • 18.40: Welcome
  • 18.45: Gabriella Ferenczi: My journey through the Himalayas. Why ancient wisdom matters in the modern world
  • 19.30 onwards: Networking, drinks

After a speaker had to pull out and it proved to be difficult to secure another speaker at short notice, Gabriella, host and organiser of the event decided to step in and save the day.

Still processing an eye-opening journey she recently returned from, she will share some key moments of insights from her August travels across the Himalaya, hoping to inspire the audience to discover a deeper appreciation for the diversity of the human spirit, expressed by culture and language.

About the speaker:

Gabriella Ferenczi is a German and Hungarian language coach, founder of ProLingua Global, a London-based language training company. She is a linguist, language and culture enthusiast, and she’s also the organiser of Language Professionals’ Networking Event.

Join her in this talk and get to know the people and belief systems of Nepal and the Kathmandu valley, learn about the redemptive spirit of Tibet and the higher Himalayas, and discover a world where all of the wisdom of all peoples can contribute to our collective well-being.
