The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at the University of Glasgow is pleased to invite young people in Scotland to the third edition of our Taster Sessions for Senior Phase pupils on Tuesday 2 September 2025.
This event will take place between 10 am and 2 pm at
Adam Smith Business School (rooms 492 & 587)
2 Discovery Pl, Glasgow G11 6EY
Teachers, please book a maximum of 10 tickets per school in the first instance. i.e.:one ticket per person attending.
These 20 minute sessions will offer pupils an opportunity to taste interactive lessons in Gaelic, Czech, Italian, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, as well as Literature for Languages and English Language.
Questions are welcome! Staff delivering the sessions will be very happy to answer questions regarding the content of the sessions as well as to advise on what it is like to study languages at the University of Glasgow.
This invitation is open to all Senior Phase pupils not only to those who are currently studying languages in school.
Studying a language at Beginners Level (no prior knowledge is required) is an option available to all first-year students in Glasgow University.
Students who choose to study a language can, if they wish, continue studying this in their year 2 and from there progress to a degree including that language.
SMLC will give pupils from MD20 and MD40 catchment areas a voucher as a gift for attending this event 😊
Refreshments will be provided free of charge on the day.
The programme of parallel sessions will be emailed to attendees closer to the day.
