Description

Languages:MK, a project dedicated to promoting Milton Keynes as a city of languages, and to facilitate language learning and support for our businesses and our community.

  • Are you interested in learning a new language?
  • Do you want to practise your existing language skills?
  • Are you interested in working as a translator or interpreter?
  • Or perhaps you are a language teacher looking to network and explore the latest language learning research from The Open University?

The Languages MK show will give you the opportunity to:

  • explore language learning and teaching technologies
  • practise speaking a variety of languages in the Language Café area
  • watch live cultural performances from local schools
  • discover the options for language learning in the Milton Keynes area
  • find out more about translating and interpreting
  • talk to local business partners about the benefits of language learning

You can also participate in a number of free sessions:

Community Learning MK will be providing language taster sessions in a broad selection of languages

The Open University will offer a series of professional development sessions for language teachers

The Institute of Translation and Interpreting will be offering seminars on generalist or specialist translating and different types of interpreting
