Final extended deadline! Register your place by Tuesday, 12th June!

Are you interested in the teaching and learning of modern languages? SCILT, Scotland's National Centre for Languages and The School of Education are delighted to host the return of LanguageStrathclyde on Tuesday 19th June 2018, to celebrate the work of staff, students and partners of the University of Strathclyde in the field of languages education.

This year’s theme transitions will consider language learners as they move on: from home to school; from primary to secondary school; from secondary school to college or university; from language learner to language user; from monolingual to plurilingual. There will be presentations, research briefings and opportunities to talk with colleagues about what you’re doing in language education and what the way forward might be.

A poster gallery will be on display throughout the event, with various opportunities to discuss with other attendees at the start and during the mid-event break.

This free event will run all afternoon from 1330 to 1845, here at the University of Strathclyde campus. Refreshments will be available on arrival. Take a look at the full programme and speaker brochure for further details.

Find out how the principles set out in the National Framework for Languages can be translated into classroom practice and challenge your language skills in French, Gaelic, German, Italian, Mandarin or Spanish through our group activity sessions! This will no doubt be thirsty work and will be followed by a wine reception later in the afternoon.

Come along to the whole event or simply drop in when you’re able!
