Lansio adroddiad ‘Arddangos Gwerth Economaidd Colegau AB yng Nghymru’ gyda’r Gweinidog Dysgu Gydol Oes a’r Gymraeg, Alun Davies

Mae colegau AB yng Nghymru yn creu gwerth mewn sawl ffordd. Yn yr adroddiad hwn, ein nod yw asesu buddion economaidd colegau AB yng Nghyrmu i’w grŵpiau allweddol o randdeiliaid: dysgwyr, cymdeithas, trethdalwyr, a’r gymuned leol. Mae’r ffaith fod dysgu’n gwneud gwahaniaeth i’r grwpiau hyn yn hysbys, ond nid oes llawer o ymchwil wedi cael ei wneud i feintioli gwerth ariannol yr effeithiau.

Roedd 12 coleg yn rhan o’r astudiaeth, dyma flas ar rhai o’r casgliadau isod:

Buddion i ddysgwyr - Mae pob £1 y mae dysgwyr yn ei dalu am eu haddysg mewn colegau AB yng Nghymru yn creu £6.90 o ran cyflogau uwch i’r dyfodol. Mae hyn yn trosi yn gyfradd elw flynyddol o 20.8%.

Buddion i gymdeithas - Bydd cymdeithas yn cael £7.90 mewn buddion yn gyfnewid am bob £1 a fuddsoddir mewn colegau AB yng Nghymru. Cyfradd flynyddol gyfartalog elw ar fuddsoddiad yw 24.0%.

Buddion i drethdalwyr - Mae trethdalwyr yn cael cyfradd flynyddol gyfartalog o 20.4% o elw ar eu buddsoddiad mewn colegau AB yng Nghymru. Y gymhareb budd-cost gyfatebol yw £6.30 mewn buddion am bob £1 mewn costau

Launch of theDemonstrating the Economic Value of FE Colleges in Wales report with the Minister for Lifelong Learning and Welsh Language, Alun Davies

FE colleges create value in many ways. The aim of this report was to assess the economic benefits of FE colleges in Wales to their key stakeholder groups: learners, society, taxpayers, and the local community. The fact that learning makes a difference to these groups is well known, but comparatively little research has been done to quantify the monetary value of the impacts.

12 colleges took part in the study, here are some key findings below:

Benefits to Learners - Every £1 that learners pay for their education at FE colleges in Wales yields £6.90 in higher future wages. This translates to a 20.8% annual rate of return.

Benefits to Society - Society will receive £7.90 in benefits in return for every £1 invested in FE colleges in Wales. The average annual rate of return on investment is 24.0%.

Benefits to Taxpayer - Taxpayers see an average annual rate of return of 20.4% from their investment in FE colleges in Wales. The corresponding benefit-cost ratio is £6.30 in benefits returned for every £1 in costs.
