Join the digital innovation team at Historic Environment Scotland's Engine Shed who will provide an insight to their work in capturing the world around us using a variety of digital technologies and how that information is used in practice.
This team have some world leading experts in spatial capture and management and will give you a unique insight to the techniques they use and some of the work they have undertaken in Scotland and overseas - from the Sydney Opera House to the Stone of Destiny, landscapes and cities to jousting.
The session will be led by Al Rawlinson - Head of Digital Innovation and learning at HES.

About Al
Al Rawlinson has extensive experience in heritage digital documentation and visualisation, and specialise in the management and delivery of large scale, complex digital documentation projects. He has worked in the 3D visualisation sector since graduation and joined The Glasgow School of Art in 2006, where he worked on the digital documentation of an entire city to create the ‘Urban Model of Glasgow’, Since joining HES in 2017 he is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of technical digital resources to promote and educate audiences on the conservation of the historic environment, and to advance its digital accessibility.
