Last of the Summer Wine: Our Summer Smash Hits

During the balmy Septembers offered by our fair isle, we cling to the last golden rays and refuse to admit that Autumn is only a stone’s throw away. Tonight, in one final hurrah for the heat, Monty and Alex will share with you the bottles of wine that have most impressed and refreshed them this Summer. Like a series of holiday snaps, with each pop of the cork these wines capture evocative memories of the sunny season that we never want to end - think chilled Cabernet Franc sipped on a picnic blanket, food-friendly Rosato paired with rainbow salads and celebratory toasts of English sparkling as the tennis plays on at Wimbledon. When we meet to taste again, our thoughts will have turned like the colour of the leaves towards Autumn, but for now we will bask together in the last of the sunshine, drinking only the smash hits of the Summer.

Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
