A moderate graded walk which begins by following the route of the old Keswick to Penrith Railway, now known as the Keswick to Threlkeld Trail (K2T), before continuing to the summit of Latrigg (368m/1,040ft).
Starting from the centre of Keswick, the route passes the former Keswick railway station, Then follows the K2T trail as it weaves its way over the River Greta on some of the original Victorian railway bridges and some rebuilt following Storm Desmond. A steep road ascent , which then continues up the eastern flank of Latrigg along a stony track, leads up to the summit of Latrigg.
A long winding descent, down a well defined track, leads back down into Keswick.
Paths are generally good, but there are some sections which are stony and others that will be muddy in poor weather.
Participants will need to dress appropriately for the terrain and weather and bring a packed lunch.
