Join us on Sunday, 12 October 2025, 4:00–5:30pm, for a discussion with Fr Jean Nyembo SJ and Dr Aidan Cottrell Boyce. Together they will explore the exploitative practices of the cobalt mining industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo and their wider implications for ecology, justice, and faith.

Drawing continuities from the rubber trade of the 19th century to today’s cobalt trade, Jean Nyembo will highlight the challenges facing people of good will who respond to Pope Francis’ call in Laudato Si’ to act against ecological and social injustice.
