Laugh Club is a daytime comedy event. It began as a show for parents and carers (and their friends and family) but has now evolved to include anyone who may find getting to an evening comedy show difficult. Laugh Club is an escape from every day life, and a chance to meet new people and have a great time out.
The happy audience at Laugh Club February
It's been said that laughter is the best medicine and we firmly believe this is true! A good session of full on laughing not only takes you out of the stresses of everyday life, but can also have an impact on your mood over the next few days.
Please come out and have a good laugh with us while raising money for Bristol Autism Support! Laugh Club comedy events are brilliant fun. They start from 10am - so you can come out and have a good time during school hours!
How it works:
Buy your ticket online. This is a very popular event and seats are limited so best to book early. Tickets are paid for via PayPal, but you do not need a PayPal account to buy your ticket - you may use any credit or debit card and payment is super secure.
Doors open at 10am, and the bar is open at that point for hot or cold drinks. You'll get 10% off your drinks with your Bristol pink card, South Glos Network Card or Carer's Emergency card!
On top of that, Friends of BAS get 10% off their ticket!
The comedy show starts at 11am sharp. Our resident compere Cerys Nelmes kicks off the proceedings with a bit of a warmup and then introduces the first of three comedians. Each comedian performs for about 20 minutes, and then we have more from Cerys, and a break.
Our lovely compere Cerys Nelmes always keeps us in stitches!
Our shows are on the ground floor and so are fully disabled accessible.
The show you will see during the day is the same show, with the same professional comedians, that you'd see in the comedy club that evening, but for half the price!!
After the comedians have performed, lunch is served, and people can stay as long as they like!
Here's what people say about Laugh Club shows:
"It was excellent! A much needed break!"
"Fab!! Didn't stop laughing!! I really needed this..."
"It was brilliant, loved it!"
"It was FANTASTIC!!"
The food on offer is a pizza and salad buffet. Have a special diet? Please purchase a ticket with food and email firstname.lastname@example.org to give your dietary requirements.
Please note that as food must be preordered, show + food ticket purchasing ends at noon on the day before the event.
Full on, proper comedy. For grown ups / ages 18+ only - with strong language and adult humour.
The shows are held in the Steam Cafe Bar, which is the sister business to Riproar Comedy Club in Union Street (Broadmead). This is on the corner of Union Street and Silver Street. It is opposite the entrance to Maudlin Street (where the eye hospital and dental hospital are).
This event is sponsored by Watkins Solicitors, the SEND law specialists
