Laugh Your way to Confidence

Life is better when you laugh in fact everything feels better with a smile on your face.
We mistakenly assume that we need to feel happy to laugh when the truth is laughing will makes us feel happy. Children naturally laugh hundreds of times a day and as we grow older if we laugh 10 times a day we are doing well. Laughter Sessions give you the opportunity to wake up your chuckle muscles and the more you use them the stronger they get, and the easier it is to fall into a natural hearty laugh. Laughter Sessions stimulate your ability to laugh and experience joy and the happiness. This feel good feeling extends into your life and as laughter is contagious your joyfulness will also spread those around you.

This laughter session is based on a combination of Laughter Yoga and NLP games and techniques to work with you physiologically and psychologically developing your ability feel happy and joyful. The sessions are powerful and the fast pace keeps you very much in the moment.
All you need to enjoy this Laughter session is willingness to laugh and a childlike playfulness. During the session you will forget the rest of the world and allow yourself to relax and engage with your inner child. Using some simple breathing techniques and taking part in a variety of laughter exercises you will re-energise your body. The session (depending on the venue and length of the session) often include time lying down on comfy mats for free fall Laughter (You have to experience this) then ending with a guided relaxation. You will feel refreshed and relaxed to go out into the world with an increased ability to experience laughter.
During the laughter session you will take part in a lot of games and activities and it best to wear clothes that you can move freely in. The activities can be adapted to meet varied physical abilities and ages. Laughter is a very physical activity and as with any physical exercise most people can take part very safely but if you do have a health condition it may be worth checking with your GP. Here is some information to help.
Laughter Yoga is not a substitute for medical consultation for physical, mental and psychological illnesses, but is a powerful natural complementary form of healing. It is like any other aerobic exercise and may not be suitable for everyone as it involves some physical strain and a rise in intra-abdominal pressure.
Some people may have pre-existing medical conditions and one should take reasonable precaution before doing laughter exercises or indeed any form of exercise.
- It is contraindicated for people suffering from:
- Any kind of hernia
- Heart disease
- With angina pain
- Persistent cough with breathlessness
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure
- Incontinence of urine
- Epilepsy, Advanced (bleeding) piles and haemorrhoids or any bleeding tendencies in any part of the body
- Severe backache
- Any acute symptoms of cough, cold and fever
- People who have undergone major surgery should wait at least three months before doing Laughter Yoga.
- If in doubt first consult a medical professional for guidance.
Good stuff: Anyone undergoing physician-prescribed therapy that experiences improvements through laughter should seek the advice of their doctor before reducing dosage or stopping treatment.
