How long will my visit last?

Accepted Answer

You’ll have an opportunity to view the lifeboat for 15 minutes, and you’ll be on site for a total of 45 minutes. The lifeboat will be out of the water during this time.

Question 2

How many tickets can I book?

Accepted Answer

You can book a maximum of two tickets. All tickets are timed entry. It’s a working site, so there are restrictions on the number of people who can be accommodated at any one time. A ticket limit gives other supporters a fair chance to see the lifeboat that bears their loved ones name too.

Question 3

Do children need a ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Adults and children over 5 need a booked ticket. For health and safety reasons, we need to know how many people are in your group, regardless of their age.

Question 4

Can I book on the day?

Accepted Answer

You must book your tickets in advance to attend our special event. Please contact the Launch a Memory team for any additional ticket availability before the event. Where possible, we will try to accommodate any last-minute tickets on the day but this is not guaranteed - so please book in advance.

Question 5

Is there a waiting list?

Accepted Answer

No. All cancellations will be updated directly on the Eventbrite website and cancelled tickets will immediately become available to other supporters. We recommend keeping an eye on Eventbrite for any cancellations.

Question 6

Can I bring a dog?

Accepted Answer

Only assistance dogs are permitted to this event. Anyone bringing a dog will not be permitted into the College or All-weather Lifeboat Centre.

Question 7

Is there car parking available?

Accepted Answer

Please plan your journey carefully; we have limited availability for carparking on site on the weekend. We suggest looking for alternative public car parking close by or exploring public transport options.

Question 8

When should I book overnight accommodation?

Accepted Answer

If you’re planning to stay overnight, we advise you to obtain booked tickets for the event before booking your accommodation. And if you are thinking of staying at the College, please be aware that rooms may be limited due to crew training taking place at weekends.

Question 9

Is the event being filmed, and can I watch it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A video is being made and will be uploaded to the Launch a Memory Eric's Legend Lifeboat updates page after the event and will also be sent directly to all supporters signed up to our update emails. This will be accessible to all and free to watch. You don’t need to book.

Question 10

If I can’t get tickets for Poole, will I be able to visit the lifeboat at a later date?

Accepted Answer

We hope there will be opportunities for you to visit the lifeboat in in the future. Currently we’re not in a position to issue any guarantees on that. The important thing is that your loved one is powering lifesaving and that is a lovely way to remember them.
