Question 1

How long will my visit last?

Accepted Answer

You’ll have an opportunity to view the lifeboat for 15 minutes, and you’ll be on site for a total of 45 minutes. The lifeboat will be out of the water during this time.

Question 2

How many tickets can I book?

Accepted Answer

You can book a maximum of two tickets per name added to the boat, up to a maximum of 8 tickets per group. All tickets are timed entry. It’s a working site, so there are restrictions on the number of people who can be accommodated at any one time.

Do children need a ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Children over 5 years need a booked ticket. For health and safety reasons, we need to know how many people are in your group, regardless of their age.

Is there a waiting list?

All cancellations will automatically return to sale on this page and ticket bookings will remain open until midnight on 22nd June 2025. After this date if you were not able to secure tickets please email  LaunchAMemory@rnli.org.uk  to join our waiting list on a  first come, first serve basis.

Question 5

Can I bring a dog?

Accepted Answer

Only assistance dogs are permitted to this event. Anyone bringing a dog will not be permitted into the College or All-weather Lifeboat Centre.

Question 6

Is there car parking available?

Accepted Answer

Please plan your journey carefully; we have limited availability for car parking on site on the weekend. There is ample public car parking in Poole within a short walk of the RNLI college. For more information you can visit www.bcpcouncil.gov.uk/parking/find-a-car-park

Question 7

When should I book overnight accommodation?

Accepted Answer

If you’re planning to stay overnight, we advise you to obtain booked tickets for the event before booking your accommodation. And if you are thinking of staying at the College, please be aware that rooms may be limited due to crew training taking place at weekends.

Question 8

Is the event being filmed, and can I watch it?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A video is being made and will be uploaded to the Launch a Memory Lifeboat updates page after the event and will also be sent directly to all supporters signed up to our update emails. This will be accessible to all and free to watch. You don’t need to book.

Question 9

If I can’t get tickets for Poole, will I be able to visit the lifeboat at a later date?

We hope there will be opportunities for you to visit your Launch a Memory Lifeboat in the future once it is back on service at the Exmouth Lifeboat Station. We will keep you posted on updates by email or by your Exmouth Updates Page.
