Event description
The North East Social Tech Fund provides Innovation Grants to charities and social enterprises in the North East.

About this Event

Digital Catapult NETV is delighted to be launching the inaugural North East Social Tech Fund - a pilot programme designed to help charities and social enterprises explore the benefits of emerging technologies.

The North East Social Tech Fund will provide small Innovation Grants to successful organisations, alongside dedicated support from Digital Catapult NETV’s innovation specialists. Whether you want to deliver more social impact, or to improve your organisational efficiencies, the Fund will allow you to use technology to solve key challenges your organisation faces.

Launch Event

The launch event will take place at Ramside Hall on 25th September, from 9.30am - 12.00pm. Join us to find out how to apply to the fund, what the programme involves and be inspired about how digital technology can help your charity.

The Fund is open to any registered charity or social enterprise in the North East and Tees Valley area. Organisations that are interested in how they can use Tech for Good are encouraged to attend the launch event.

Tea and Coffee will be provided and there will be time for networking during the event.

Muckle LLP’s Offices, 2nd October: bit.ly/NCL2October

Design Hop

We’re also delighted to be able to offer attendees the opportunity to take part in a Design Hop, thanks to our partners CAST, VONNE and Consult and Design. This will take place in the afternoon of the launch, from 1-4pm at Ramside Hall. Lunch will be provided for attendees who are attending both parts of the launch event.

What is a Design Hop?

Design Hops are the first step, or ‘hop’, into exploring the role of digital in charitable services. By demystifying technology and design, and placing the focus on people not tech, the free half-day workshop and follow-up support helps you start your digital journey on the right foot.

And if you’ve already started that journey but are struggling to move forward, Design Hops provide a step-by-step approach to help you plan, prioritise and test.

Who are they for?

Established charitable organisations between £10k-£100m annual income.

How to register?

If you would like to attend the Design Hop in addition to the Launch, please can you sign up directly with CAST at http://bit.ly/CASTDesignHops

Please note: places on the Design Hop are limited and will therefore be offered on a first come first served basis. If you are not a registered charitable organisation, we reserve the right to turn down your request to stay for the afternoon.

If you have any questions, or have a dietary requirement you would like us to cater for, please contact Anna Malley at Anna.malley@sunderlandsoftwarecity.com
