Launch of Cardiff Metropolitan University's Global Academies

Establishing a suite of Global Academies is one of the seven strategic priorities set out in our Strategic Plan 2017/18 – 2022/23. Building on our institutional strengths to meet national and international need, we have now established three Global Academies:

• Health and Human Performance;
• Human Centred Design;
• Food Science, Safety and Security.

The three Global Academies serve to tackle global challenges addressed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Wellbeing of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. Each showcases the positive impact of our interdisciplinary, international and impactful research, innovation and postgraduate education.

The launch of the Global Academies was scheduled to take place in the Senedd this Autumn. Instead, this virtual launch offers a wider audience the opportunity to hear first-hand about the research currently taking place within our three Global Academies and for invited guests to ask questions during the question and answer session at the end of the event.

Mae sefydlu cyfres o Academïau Byd-eang sy'n adeiladu ar ein cryfderau sefydliadol yn un o'r saith blaenoriaeth strategol a nodir yn ein Cynllun Strategol 2017/18 - 2022/23. Mae pob un yn arddangos effaith gadarnhaol ein hymchwil ryngddisgyblaethol, ryngwladol ac effeithiol, arloesi ac addysg ôl-raddedig.

Roeddem i fod i lansio Academïau Byd-eang mewn digwyddiad yn y Senedd yr Hydref hwn ond oherwydd Covid-19, bydd y lansiad rhithwir hwn yn cynnig cyfle i gynulleidfa ehangach glywed o lygad y ffynnon am yr ymchwil, yr arloesi a'r addysg sy'n digwydd ar hyn o bryd yn ein tair Academi Fyd-eang, ac i westeion ofyn cwestiynau yn ystod y sesiwn holi ac ateb ar ddiwedd y digwyddiad.
