Description

Intoart Design launch their first ceramics collection in collaboration with Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart

Christian Ovonlen, Yoshiko Phillips, Philomena Powell and Clifton Wright are currently designing and making the first Intoart Design ceramics collection. Each artist draws upon their extensive visual archive to create a series of hand-glazed pots, comprising planters in three sizes and unique flower vases. The artists are working with ceramicists Pip Hartle and Miray Mehmet who hand-throw each bespoke vessel for the artist to glaze and decorate.

We are delighted to announce that the Intoart Design ceramics collection will be launched this July in collaboration with Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart. Nikki will plant each of the pots taking visual inspiration from each artists design, using locally grown and seasonal planting, and creating bespoke arrangements of cut flowers for a truly luxurious finish to the unique vases. Visitors to the event will have the chance to purchase each one of these unique collaborations.

To realise this new collection of over 40 ceramic vessels, the four artists are using vibrant underglaze and glazing techniques, including mono-printing, stencil and hand-painting. Their visual styles range from the intricate and delicate to the bold and expressive, while their subject matter takes inspiration from flower gardens, portraiture and architecture.

Illustration series

On display for this special event, Intoart Design is delighted to reveal a new series of limited-edition prints and illustrations by Ntiense Eno Amooquaye, Philomena Powell, Andre Williams and Clifton Wright, inspired by the intricate structures and infinite variety found in the botanical world. This new collection of works on paper has been informed by working with renowned illustrator Katie Scott, who has been sharing her complex botanical illustrations and exploring her research processes and observational techniques via a series of workshops in the Intoart studio.

The ceramics and prints will be available to buy at the event.

All proceeds directly support Intoart, a charity working with people with learning disabilities as artists.
