Event description

Description

Thank you for all the interest in our forthcoming event.

This is to advise that the date is now confirmed as 24/06.

The negative impact of parental imprisonment upon children and young people is being increasingly well-documented. The findings are accommodated within Welsh Government policy and procedure, and the emerging Adverse Childhood Experience agenda.

Barnardo’s Cymru Invisible Walls Accord service has developed a resource toolkit for professionals supporting children and families affected by offending and parental imprisonment. The resource is versatile and can be used with children aged between 5 and 17. It is designed to correlate with the National Curriculum and promote citizenship within schools and subsequent communities.

The launch event will

  • Provide you with an opportunity to meet with schools and professionals who have already been trained and are utilising the resource.
  • Provide you with an opportunity to find out more about parental imprisonment, prison and how we have worked in partnership to reduce the impact for children and families.
  • You will learn more about the service and be able to register for training to raise awareness in your school or organisation.

The event will be of interest to head teachers, teachers, health, social care, youth and criminal justice professionals working with Children and Families affected by Parental Imprisonment.

The Big Lottery-funded Barnardo’s Cymru Invisible Walls Accord service aims to ensure that children affected by parental imprisonment are identified to receive appropriate support to reduce the short and long-term impact of such adverse experience.

Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and in partnership with G4S Parc Prison.

Mae effaith negyddol rhieni’n mynd i’r carchar ar blant a phobl ifanc yn cael ei chofnodi fwyfwy. Mae’r canfyddiadau’n cael eu hadlewyrchu ym mholisi a gweithdrefnau Llywodraeth Cymru, ac yn yr agenda yn ymwneud â phrofiadau niweidiol yn ystod plentyndod sy’n datblygu’n gynyddol.

Mae gwasanaeth Invisible Walls Accord Barnardo’s Cymru wedi datblygu pecyn o adnoddau i weithwyr proffesiynol sy’n cefnogi plant a theuluoedd y mae troseddu a rhieni yn y carchar yn effeithio arnynt. Mae'n adnodd hyblyg a gellir ei ddefnyddio gyda phlant rhwng 5 a 17 oed. Mae wedi’i gynllunio i gyd-fynd â’r Cwricwlwm Cenedlaethol ac i hyrwyddo dinasyddiaeth mewn ysgolion ac mewn cymunedau wedyn.

Bydd y lansiad

  • Yn gyfle ichi gwrdd ag ysgolion a gweithwyr proffesiynol sydd eisoes wedi cael eu hyfforddi ac sy’n defnyddio’r adnodd
  • Yn gyfle ichi ddysgu mwy am rieni yn y carchar, carchar a sut rydym wedi gweithio mewn partneriaeth i leihau’r effaith ar blant a theuluoedd.
  • Yn gyfle ichi ddysgu mwy am y gwasanaeth a byddwch yn gallu cofrestru am hyfforddiant i godi ymwybyddiaeth yn eich ysgol neu’ch sefydliad chi.

Bydd y digwyddiad o ddiddordeb i benaethiaid, athrawon, gweithwyr proffesiynol iechyd, gofal cymdeithasol, ieuenctid a chyfiawnder troseddol sy’n gweithio gyda Phlant a Theuluoedd y mae Rhieni yn y Carchar yn effeithio arnynt.

Nod gwasanaeth Invisible Walls Accord Barnardo’s Cymru sy’n cael ei ariannu gan y Loteri Fawr yw sicrhau bod plant sy’n dioddef am fod eu rhieni wedi’u carcharu yn cael eu nodi a’u bod yn cael cefnogaeth briodol er mwyn lleihau effaith fyr a hir dymor y profiad niweidiol hwn.

Wedi’i ariannu gan Gronfa Gymunedol y Loteri Genedlaethol ac mewn partneriaeth â G4S Carchar y Parc.
