King’s Awards for Enterprise are the most sought after and coveted business awards in the UK, and only a few hundred are awarded each year. The awards are lead in each county by the Lord-Lieutenant who appoints a panel of DLs and experienced local business people. The panel cannot write applications but it provides support and guidance through the application process.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Herefordshire Edward Harley OBE, appointed Tricia Thomas DL as chair of the King's Awards for Enterprise in 2022.

Unlike other awards, businesses are not nominated with each organisation, company or business making its own online application. As you would expect for such a prestigious award, the application process is rigorous. Entries are judged by a team of experienced expert judges at the King’s Awards for Enterprise head office in London.

The launch of KAE applications is on 6th May each year and in Herefordshire an event in mid-May is held where organisations with 2 or more employees can come and find out more. There is information at the event about the criteria, categories, and application process with past winners from our county sharing their own stories of success and what it means to be a winner

Next year, it could be you.
