Join us at the Saul Hay Gallery for the launch of James Appleby's 'Spurious Language', with readings from the author, Sarah-Clare Conlon and Tim Craven.
Always shifting in form, serious about humour, Appleby's debut was highly commended in The International Book & Pamphlet Competition, “the most prestigious competition of its kind… launching the careers of many well-established poets” (The Poetry Business). Critics are saying, "Spurious Language is both playful and serious, human and exact — always alive to language" (The London Magazine) and "Appleby is a talent to watch" (B O D Y).
James will be joined by Sarah-Clare Conlon, author of 'Wanderland', and Tim Craven of 'Good Sons'. Both 'Good Sons' and 'Spurious Language' are published by Edinburgh's independent Blue Diode Press.
See you at 19:30 for readings and celebration! A complementary drink is available and the event is free to attend.
