Launch of the Audit of Political Engagement 10
6:30pm, 15th May
Thatcher Room, Portcullis House, Westminster
The Audit of Political Engagement is the only annual health check on our democratic system. Now in its 10th year, each Audit measures the ‘political pulse’ of the nation, providing a unique benchmark to gauge public opinion across Great Britain with regard to the political system.
This year’s figures examine the public’s propensity to vote, their satisfaction levels with MPs and how they view the effectiveness of Parliament. Audit 10 also looks in greater detail at how the public think about politics, how complex they perceive it to be, and what impact this has both on how they view education about politics and their priorities for political reform.
Dr Ruth Fox and Matt Korris, co-authors of the report, will be presenting this year's findings, followed by a panel discussion and Q&As with the audience.
- Chloe Smith MP - Minister for Political and Constitutional Reform
- Natascha Engel MP - Chair, Backbench Business Committee
- Peter Oborne - Chief Political Commentator, Daily Telegraph
