Event description

Description

In an increasingly connected and complex world, solutions to problems in every sphere are no longer simple. Old techniques and thinking are being pushed aside as non-linearity and emergent behaviour become the norm. So, it is no surprise to see security organisations globally on the ‘back foot’ struggling to cope with agile enemies that are faster to innovate.

The Centre of Excellence in Terrorism, Resilience, Intelligence and Crime - CENTRIC is a multi-disciplinary and end-user focused centre of excellence established in the Cultural, Communication and Computing Research Institute at Sheffield Hallam University. The University of Suffolk is proud to launch its new Research Institute - Suffolk CENTRIC in in the Atrium Building in the Ipswich Waterfront Innovation Centre, Ipswich. The global reach of CENTRIC links both academic and professional expertise across a range of disciplines providing unique opportunities to progress ground-breaking research.

The event is free to attend and will include lunch and talks from Professor Babak Akhgar, Director CENTRIC, Sheffield Hallam; Professor Mohammad Dastbaz; Professor Peter Cochrane and Professor Emma Bond, University of Suffolk; Chief Constable Gareth Wilson, Suffolk Constabulary and Paul Maskall, Blue lights Digital.
