Event Details

LSHTM will be launching a new Centre for Global Chronic Conditions which are the leading cause of mortality and disability globally. This new centre is a merger of two existing LSHTM Centres (ECOHOST – The Centre for Health & Social Change and the Centre for Global NCDs). The Centre for Global Chronic Conditions will provide a comprehensive approach to understanding prevention, treatment and care of chronic conditions by linking upstream and downstream approaches involving epidemiological, social science and health system and policy researchers from across LSHTM. It will be truly global including activities relevant to low, middle and high-income country settings. This session will present the new LSHTM Centre for Global Chronic Conditions and its future plans, it will showcase existing multi-disciplinary work at the School on chronic conditions, and will be an opportunity to develop new, and strengthen existing, networks for collaboration in this field.
