Launch of the Shiro Kuramata Monograph Re-edition
Overview
To mark the publication of the new edition of the definitive monograph on influential Japanese designer Shiro Kuramata, published by Phaidon, the author Deyan Sudjic OBE will be in conversation with foundation director Aric Chen on 12 December from 18:30, followed by a book signing.
The new edition emerges at a moment when interest in Kuramata’s work--which included such iconic works from the 1970s and '80s as the Miss Blanche chair and hundreds of interiors for Issey Miyake, Esprit and others--continues to grow. Bringing this project to London allows a wider audience to engage with the ideas, memories and critical perspectives of those who have known, studied and carried his work and universe across generations and continents.
