Event description

Description

Launch the start of the world's largest youth drama project with Shakespeare Schools Festival.

It’s not easy being a child today. At school, at home, online or on the street, young people face immense challenges. With Shakespeare Schools Foundation, young people improve their literacy and develop crucial life skills in empathy, confidence and teamwork.

Over 1,000 primary, secondary and specials schools from Brighton to Belfast, Norwich to Newcastle will take to their local professional stage this autumn. Hundreds of performance evenings featuring up to four abridged Shakespeare plays, directed by teachers and performed by pupils of all abilities.

Join us, with our friends at Waterstones Piccadilly, Patrons, supporters and partners to celebrate the start of our nationwide Festival featuring exclusive previews from our 2017 cast.

“The cast came away buzzing with their own potential and their hoizons completely lifted. It was one of those days that makes teaching a special job".
- Will Meadows, Teacher, Bourne End Academy, Buckinghamshire.
