Event description
Join us for the launch event of Oxymoron, a new creative co-operative aiming to bring together Oxford's diverse communities.

About this event

This launch event brings together the diverse communities of our city to facilitate new, cross-cutting work in literature, art, performance, and critical thinking. Our communities begin locally but extend across the globe, with Oxford – like Oxymoron - a radial point of contact.

We believe that working together, across disciplines and communities, is the surest way of finding new ways to do things better. This is why all of our projects are experiments in collaboration. We work both within and outside the city’s famous universities, opening doors and cloisters to let fresh ideas in and fresh ideas out. We believe in creative collision, in risk, and in beauty. We want to shake the tree, catch the fruit, carve new shapes from the wood.

We host events and exhibitions to showcase work in progress. We design tasters and chapbooks to introduce new work to new publics. And we’re looking for exciting new voices, often those working on the thresholds of existing structures, seeking to change what can be said, and how.

Join us for our Launch event where we’ll demo some collaborations-in-progress and invite you to share your own vision for Oxford’s creative future.
