21 August 1982. We opened Lavender Menace Lesbian and Gay Community Bookshop, Scotland’s first, in a basement in Forth Street in Edinburgh. 21 August 2022. Come celebrate 40 years of menacing with us at our new queer archive and events space! Buy new books and cards by Kate Charlesworth. Take part in a prize draw and adopt and name one of our book shelves.
Exclusively at Lavender Menace’s 40th Anniversary Party at Edinburgh Palette at 3pm - Mystika Glamoor will read from his 'Story Time' and host our prize draw.
If you can’t make it, you can book an online place.
Please donate what you can. For every £1 you donate you will be given a raffle ticket – either when you arrive or virtually when you tune in – the more you donate the more chance you’ll have to name one of our book shelves, the chance to win a set of New Queer Writer Postcards and Bookmarks and a Queer Books Archive gift token.
