Event description

Description

Is Texas the canary in the coal mine of America’s future?

A Republican state in which the minorities form a majority, Houston faces decisions on how to navigate it’s future - either as a mirror Europe or a microcosm of the world.

In this unmissable history lesson, Pulitzer Prize winning Lawrence Wright will help us to understand what's happening in the most controvercial state in America and why it’s important.

Lawrence will be in conversation with journalist and former editor of the Times and the Evening Standard, Simon Jenkins.

Tickets are free for members and £3 for non-members.

All proceeds from our cultural programme go to the Kibera Hamlets School in Nairobi, where Second Home has funded the construction of a new school building designed by our architects Selgas Cano.
