Description

We are pleased to announce the LawWorks Student Pro Bono Conference, supported by Manchester Law School – a must attend event for law students interested in pro bono.

If you are a law student, faculty member or involved with a law school clinic this conference will be a great opportunity to learn more about pro bono in all its forms. The conference will showcase a number of different pro bono projects and charities, provide an opportunity to debate the role of pro bono in access to justice and meet with leaders and practitioners in the pro bono field.

Our keynote speaker is Edgar Cahn, a pioneer in the clinical legal education movement and distinguished civil rights lawyer from the US. Edgar has five decades of achievements in supporting access to justice and is the inventor of Timebanks.

There will also be plenary session panel discussions on pro bono initiatives in Manchester, on and developments in clinical legal education, followed by workshops in the afternoon. Delegates will also have the chance to meet, debate and network with pro bono charities and organisations. Joe Egan President of the Law Society will close the Conference.
