About this event

Creativity Walk - Layers of the land - walk, journal, collage

Through slow walking, mindful observation, journaling, and collage, you’ll be invited to connect with the textures, rhythms, and hidden stories of the land.

This workshop is not about capturing a single image — it’s about layering your personal responses to place: memories, emotions, fragments, and found details. At curated pauses along the route, you’ll be given gentle creative prompts to journal or collage using provided materials. Together, we’ll gather more than what the eye can capture.

This is a relaxed, creative session, no artistic experience needed, just an open mind and a willingness to notice.

About the Artist

Jennifer Mon (She/They), a queer creative of colour from Lisbon, Portugal, based in Southampton, UK. Raised in a mixed immigrant household (Brazilian and Cape Verdian) in 2020, Mon moved to the UK to pursue further education and a career in the art scene. During her studies, she discovers the work of Hannah Hoch and Helina Metaferina, inspiring her to begin her journey as a collage artist.

Mon's work uses texture, bold colours, spacious typographic elements and playful wit to explore various roles in society through the lens of a queer woman of colour. Her work can capture an authentic political and emotional experience, focused on the self, and community. Through that lens Mon's mixed media work calls for human connection, highlighting the importance of self-expression in the human experience.
