The annual Linguists Collective Conference returns in 2026 for a special global online event celebrating International Mother Language Day and marking the anniversary of Linguists Collective’s launch. Bringing together language lovers, linguists and professionals from around the world, this inspiring gathering honours the richness of language, culture and the art of communication.

This year’s programme will explore critical themes in language and culture, with a focus on the preservation of rare and endangered languages and the importance of linguistic diversity in global society. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in live CPD / training designed to enhance professional skills and support excellence in language services. Whether you are an experienced linguist or simply passionate about languages, this event offers a chance to connect with an international community, share insights and gain practical knowledge.

The event will feature three engaging sessions including a discussion on this year’s UNESCO International Mother Language Day theme with emphasis on endangered languages and cultural continuity. Expert-led training for linguists will provide practical guidance and professional development for interpreters and translators at all levels. The programme concludes with a thought-provoking discussion on language, culture and connection, bringing together voices from across the language industry to reflect on the role of multilingual communication in today’s world.

Participants can choose from free general access to public sessions or a training pass for CPD workshops, with discounts available for Linguists Collective registered linguists and members of professional bodies such as NRPSI, CIOL, NRCPD, NRPST, RBSLI and CCC. Hosted online via Zoom, the event offers live captions for an engaging and inclusive experience. Recordings will be made available where possible to support flexible participation.

Be part of a meaningful celebration that combines learning, cultural exchange and professional development. From exploring endangered languages to advancing your skills as a linguist, this is your opportunity to join a global movement promoting linguistic justice and diversity.
